Care that respects the whole clinical picture
The practice brings together obesity medicine, kidney medicine, diabetes care and general internal medicine to support thoughtful assessment of adult medical concerns. Consultations are guided by the referral question, available investigations, medication history, comorbidities and the individual circumstances of the patient.
The aim is to provide clear clinical reasoning, practical management recommendations and timely communication back to the referring clinician. Virtual care is selected only when it can support a safe and effective specialist assessment.
Evidence-informed
Recommendations are grounded in current clinical guidance and the information available for each patient.
Patient-centred
Care considers health goals, comorbidities, preferences, access needs and treatment burden.
Referral-connected
Consultation findings and recommendations are communicated to the referring clinician.
Ontario-wide virtual care
Virtual consultations can improve access for patients who live at a distance, have mobility or transportation challenges, or benefit from receiving specialist care from a private setting. The same professional standard applies whether care is provided virtually or in person.
